1730 Tartan Teddy Bear Worsted

Hand made, each of our teddies is unique and individual.  Classic toys, they are heirlooms in the making and their individuality makes them genuine collectors items.

Originally woven in 1730 in pure silk as a “Brides Plaid”, this Tartan was discovered in the archive of the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. It is most unusual in that it incorporates 8 colours in a very complex pattern, and would have taken great skill to hand weave over 280 years ago.

They are all fully jointed and come in 3 sizes:
Small - 25 cms tall approximately - price £60.00
Medium - 35 cms tall approximately - price £85.00
Large - 50 cms tall approximately - price £130.00
