1730 Tartan Scarf

Originally woven in 1730 in pure silk as a “Brides Plaid”, this pattern was discovered in the archive of the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore.

It is most unusual in that it incorporates 8 colours in a very complex pattern, and would have taken great skill to hand weave over 280 years ago.

100% Lambswool.

Size: 180 x 25 cms plus fringe.

Includes free postage in the UK.

Made in Scotland.
